Program: Clinical Laboratory Assistant

This program will prepare you to become a Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA). Clinical Laboratory Assistants are responsible for preparing patient specimens for examination. Under the direction of a laboratory technologist, laboratory assistants work with professionals who perform diagnostic specimen testing of body fluids in hospitals, private laboratories, medical offices, and research facilities.

Math and English levels:
Adult students will be assessed using the Test of Adult Basic English (TABE) Locator and Survey or through high school or college transcripts. High School students will be assessed by their counselor.

Admission Requirements:
• Must be at least 16 years old to enroll
• Current TB test and/or X-ray
• Immunizations: MMR/Titer, Varicella, TDaP, Hepatitis B series

Occupation & Licensure Requirements:
• Employers may have additional requirements
