Program: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) work in a variety of settings including long term care facilities, hospitals and home health agencies performing tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. They answer patients’ call lights, deliver messages, serve meals, make beds, and help patients eat, dress, and bathe. CNAs perform clinical tasks including taking patient temperatures, pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure; assisting with procedures; and observing patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions. They help patients get in and out of bed and walk, escort patients to operating and examining rooms, keep patients’ rooms neat, and set up, store and move equipment and supplies. Completion of this program will prepare you to become a Utah licensed CNA by taking the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry CNA Certification test.
