SLTATC Extension Campus: Rose Park Campus

The Rose Park Campus is located at 1400 W. Goodwin Ave. (1145 N.), Salt Lake City. The Campus has classrooms for the Business Technologies, Health Care Technologies, and Information Technologies areas of training as well as a Student Services office and a testing/assessment room.

The SLTATC partnered with the Salt Lake City School District to lease space in the Salt Lake Center for Science Education, formerly the Norwest Middle School building. Not only does this arrangement provide a spacious facility for the College, but it also offers citizens in the Rose Park community easily accessible technical training. This Campus replaces the West Valley Campus, which is now CLOSED.

The Utah legislature mandated that UCAT campuses, prior to requesting funds for new facilities, must make every attempt at “developing cooperative agreements with local school districts, other higher education institutions, businesses, industries, and community and private agencies to maximize the availability of applied technology instructional facilities for both secondary and adult students" (53B-2a-112). The Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College Rose Park Campus is a prime example of responding to this mandate.
