Preparing Students for Successful Careers
through Technical Education

Mission Statement
The Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College provides rewarding, competency-based, affordable, and accessible career preparation for youth and adults that meets the needs of Utah employers.

Part of the Utah College of Applied Technology
The Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College or SLTATC is one of eight campuses that make up the Utah College of Applied Technology (UCAT). Each campus-college serves a specific geographic region within the state. The SLTATC serves Salt Lake and Tooele Counties.

Serving students, adults, and businesses
The SLTATC serves the students, adults, and businesses of the Salt Lake and Tooele Counties. Our customer base includes over 54,000 9th – 12th grade high school students (more than 38% of Utah’s eligible high school students) and over 944,000 residents (over 42% of Utah’s total population). Many of Utah’s largest and most vibrant businesses are also located within our service area.

Providing diverse and accessible training opportunities
To meet the needs of our customers, SLTATC currently has four primary locations: our main campus and administrative center at 3760 S. Highland Drive, Suite 200 in Salt Lake City; a Training Center including Commercial Driver's License, Automotive and Diesel Mechanics at 2221 South 5370 West in West Valley City; our Rose Park Campus including classrooms, computer labs and Student Services located in the Salt Lake Center for Science Education at 1400 W. Goodwin Ave. (1145 N.), Salt Lake City; and our newest addition the Tooele Campus at 66 W. Vine Street in Tooele. These locations provide training opportunities in information technologies, medical technologies, transportation technologies, manufacturing technologies, and business skills. Because of equipment requirements, not every program or course is offered at each location. The SLTATC also has partnerships with additional organizations and institutions to provide training at locations outside of our campuses, including Horizonte High School, Granite High School, Tooele School District, and the Granite Technical Institute.

Offering customized training options to businesses
Responding to unique business needs means that the SLTATC offers customized programs and classes designed to meet the specific needs of businesses and industries. Business leaders also sit on the College’s Board of Directors and on the College Foundation to advise and direct our activities.

Continuing to grow by responding to changing needs
The Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College is committed to becoming an integral and dynamic part of our community. We will do this by providing the best possible technical training to meet the changing, on-going needs of students, adults, and businesses.
