Course: Steering and Suspension I

Course Description
This is the first part of a three course series. This course will teach detailed training in aspects of diagnosis and repair of sutomotive suspension and steering systems. Instruction will be given in diagnosing and replacement of suspension components.

Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient automotive suspension and steering diagnostic and repair skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Technical Competency is available upon request. This course, when taken with Steering and Suspension II and III, will also prepare you to take the ASE Suspension and Steering Systems Certification Test.

This course fulfills requirements for the following Programs:

  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair front suspension systems
  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair rear suspension systems

This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

Course Length
The estimated length of this course is 60 hours.
Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

Specific Course Admission Requirements
There are no specific requirements to take this course. However, courses in the Transportation Technology Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services.

West Valley Training Center: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday,
                                           8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday

Tuition and Fees
Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
