Course: Electrical / Electronic Systems

Course Description
This course will provide theory and hands-on training on basic electrical components and systems. Students will receive detailed training on alternators, lights, wiring schematics, symbols, and circuit. Students are required to wire various circuits and use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot components and systems.

Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient electrical system diagnosis and repair skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Technical Competency is available upon request.

This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

Specific Course Admission Requirements
There are no specific requirements to take this course. However, courses in the Transportation Technology Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services.

West Valley Training Center: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday,
                                           8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday

Tuition and Fees
Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
