Course: Math for Automotive Technicians

Course Description
This course offers and introduction to basic mathematics, including operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, as well as averages and percentages.

Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient basic math skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Technical Competency is available upon request.

  • Solve simple story problems with percentages and averages

This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

Specific Course Admission Requirements
There are no specific requirements to take this course. However, courses in the Transportation Technology Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services.

West Valley Training Center: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday,
                                           8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday

Tuition and Fees
Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
