Course Description
This course provides theory and hands-on experience for students on maintenance and repair of the heavy duty steering and suspension. Instructions covers shocks, kingpins, drag links, tie rods, steering gear box, straight axles, wheels, tires and frame service.
Certificate Completion of this course certifies proficient suspension and steering maintenance and repair skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Technical Competency is available upon request.

Course Structure This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.
Course Length The estimated length of this course is 120 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.
Specific Course Admission Requirements There are no specific requirements to take this course. However, courses in the Transportation Technology Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services.

Course Location and Schedule
West Valley Training Center: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday,
8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday
Tuition and Fees Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
