Course: Steering and Suspension II

Course Description
This is the second part of a three course series. This part focuses on diagnosis and repair and wheel bearings, steering systems, and power steering assist. This course will teach detailed training in all aspects of diagnosis and repair of automotive suspension and steering systems. Instruction will be given in alignments, diagnosing and replacement of steering and suspension components, diagnosis of tire wear, and alignment related problems.

This course conforms to ASE/NATEF standards.

Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient automotive suspension and steering diagnostic and repair skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Technical Competency is available upon request. This course, when taken with Steering and Suspension II and III, will also prepare you to take the ASE Suspension and Steering Systems Certification Test.

Course Structure
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

Course Length
The estimated length of this course is 90 hours.
Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

Specific Course Admission Requirements
This course is meant to be taken as the second installment of a three course series. Also, courses in the Transportation Technology Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services.

West Valley Training Center: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday,
                                           8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday

Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
