Course: Brake Systems II

Course Description
This is the second part of a three course series. This course focuses on inspection, adjustment, and repair of drum and disc brakes. This course will teach all aspects of dignosis and repair of automotive brake systems. Instruction will be given in brake functions, anti-lock brake function, dignosing of all aspects of brakes, and proper service of brakes and their related components.

This course conforms to ASE/NATEF standards.

Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient automotive brake diagnostic and repair skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Technical Competency is available upon request. This course, when taken with Brake Systems I & III, will also prepare you to pass the ASE Brake Systems Certification Test.

This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

Course Length
The estimated length of this course is 60 hours.
Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

Specific Course Admission Requirements
Brake Systems I or equivalent competencies should be completed before taking this course. Also, courses in the Transportation Technology Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services.

West Valley Training Center: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday,
                                           8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday

Tuition and Fees
Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
