Course Description
This course will prepare you to become a Clinical Medical Assistant. This course focuses on how to perform tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff such as help patients eat, dress, and bathe; provide skin care to patients; take their temperatures, pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure; and help patients get in and out of bed and walk. You will also learn how to keep patients’ rooms neat, set up equipment, store and move supplies, and assist with some procedures.
Certificate This course isa requirement for the Clinical Medical Assisting Program. Completion of this as a part of completing all other required program coursework will result in the completion of the SLTATC Clinical Medical Assisting Program.

Course Structure This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

Specific Course Admission Requirements In order to take this course, student must have completed or be concurrently enrolled in the CMA program coursework. The course list can be found on the information sheet for this program or by contacting Student Services.

Salt Lake Campus: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday - Thursday
Horizonte Instruction & Training Center: Monday - Friday, school hours
Tooele County: Monday - Friday, schedule varies
Tuition and Fees Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
