Course: Desktop Publishing Fundamentals

              (Publisher, PageMaker, QuarkXpress)

Course Description
This is an essential course for anyone looking for jobs in printing companies or pre-press service bureaus. Students will learn the fundamentals of desktop publishing design and layout, and detailed use of at least one major digital publishing software package to create professional quality documents, including stationary, business cards, advertisements, brochures, newsletters, manuals, and other printed materials. Students will learn from positive and negative examples and will build a portfolio of their own best work.

Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient basic desktop publishing skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Technical Competency is available upon request.

  • Convert and deliver documents to the World Wide Web

Course Location and Schedule
Salt Lake Campus: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday -Thursday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday

Tuition is based on the number of enrolled classroom hours. High school students are exempt from tuition, but are responsible for course and program fees and the cost of textbooks.
