Job Title: Career and Education Liaison
Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday
Salary Range: $42,000 - $45,000 / year
Location: Salt Lake Campus, 3760 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City
Note: This is a soft-funded position through contract with Salt Lake County Criminal Justices Service Division. Continuation of the position from year-to-year is contingent upon continued funding from this Division. |

Minimum Qualifications: |

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Special Education or related field
Two years related work experience |

Note: Directly related work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis |

Reports To: Vice President of Instruction and Training |
|
Job Focus: Act as a liaison with the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Department of Workforce Services, public and higher education to provide assistance with placement of clients into appropriate training that will lead to a sustainable career. |
|

|
|
Responsibilities and Tasks: |
|
|

Obtain and analyze existing, relevant assessment data for referred clients
Meet with referred clients to provide further assessment as appropriate, in areas such as career interest, basic academic skills and aptitude.
Analyze assessment data to facilitate appropriate placement of client into regional educational and/or training programs as well as work sites
Understand and communicate the scope and availability of regional educational and training programs as well as applicable work sites to
clients as appropriate
Assist clients, Criminal Justices Service Division case managers, and government offices regarding educational issues such as assessment and comprehensive guidance
Report client enrollment, attendance, grade and/or progress, completion, licensure and job placement to the extent possible (as obtained through the educational/training entity) for a one year period.
Assist with the development, facilitation and promotion of work experience sites for clients as appropriate
Assist with problem resolution

Maintain student records, including verifying and reporting competency certificates, and timely tracking and reporting of attendance, progress and
grades
Coordinate with Transportation Technology faculty and staff to ensure courses meet program, student, and employer needs.
Assist with placement and tracking of students in work-based learning opportunities, related employment and/or continued education
Assist with the operation of the employer advisory committees
Promote and assist with student contests such as Skills U.S.A.
Assist in the articulation process between the SLTATC program and programs at other higher education institutions
Maintain program certification requirements as appropriate
