One of the primary missions of the Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College is to work with local businesses as a cost-effective, customized training partner. Our mandate is to respond to your company’s needs.

All of our college programs and courses are open and available to your employees. Through the SLTATC they can upgrade their skills, obtain new industry certifications, or gain new expertise in very affordable, self-paced classes. The College can work with you to help ensure your employees receive exactly the training they need to make them more productive for your business.

In turn, local businesses play a vital role in helping make the SLTATC an important training resource for our region. Company representatives can sit on employer advisory committees and provide direct input to the structure and focus of college programs. Businesses can donate money, material, equipment, and personnel to augment and build courses.

Customized Corporate Training

The Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College can work with you to develop a customized training package exactly tailored to your company’s specific needs. Whether it’s a one-day seminar on CPR and industrial safety, or a multi-week course on the latest database application, we will be your partner to help you receive the specialized training you want, when and where you want it, at the most affordable price possible.

First, a company like yours contacts us and tells us the type of training they are interested in receiving.

Second, a representative from the college works with your business to develop a specific training agenda, including dates, length of the training, specific topics to be covered, special issues, and even possible instructor candidates. The college will prepare a formal training contract to be signed by both parties outlining everything to be accomplished.

Third, the college prepares all things necessary for the training, completes the training, and reviews and assesses the results with your business, including a final report summarizing the results of the training contract.

All of the SLTATC’s standard programs and courses are open and available to your company’s employees. Through these programs and courses they can upgrade their skills, obtain new industry certifications, or gain new expertise in very affordable, self-paced classes.

Custom Fit Program

The Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College participates in the State of Utah’s Custom Fit Training Program for Utah businesses. The State of Utah provides training funds to help companies train their existing employees. The Utah College of Applied Technology (UCAT) is responsible for administering these funds. Each regional applied technology college under UCAT works with businesses in its service region to maximize the training benefit of Custom Fit funding.
