National Accreditation

In September 2006 the Salt Lake • Tooele Applied Technology College received national accreditation from the Council on Occupational Education (COE). A COE team came to the College and assessed every aspect of its curriculum, programs, and administration. The team was extremely impressed with the quality training provided at the SLTATC, and awarded the College full accreditation for six years.

Accreditation denotes that an institution has undergone an extensive self-study and team review process and has been judged by the Commission as meeting its Standards and Conditions for accreditation. However, accreditation is not a one-time process. The SLTATC continues to meet and exceed COE requirements, particularly through Employer Advisory Committees (EACs) that meet twice per year to oversee each program and make recommendations. COE commended the College on the use of its EACs to ensure that all College programs stay up-to-date and meet the changing needs of employers. We look forward to future visits from COE evaluation teams to continue to show our dedication to our mission to provide quality technical education to high school and adult students to meet the needs of area employers.

The Council on Occupational Education is a national institutional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
